The website of the Reform Government Surveillance coalition, which features Amazon, Apple, Dropbox, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Snap, Twitter, Verizon Media and Zoom, but not Evernote, which is also a member. A spokesperson for one of the RGS companies said they weren’t all that surprised since companies “drop in and out of trade associations.” TechCrunch also asked the other companies in the RGS coalition if they knew why Evernote was removed and all either didn’t respond, wouldn’t comment or had no idea. Evernote cites its membership of RGS in its most recent transparency report and that it supports efforts to “reform practices and laws regulating government surveillance of individuals and access to their information” - which makes its disappearance from the RGS website all the more bizarre. Still, Evernote was a powerful ally to have onboard, and showed RGS that its support for reforming government surveillance laws was gaining traction outside of the companies named in the leaked NSA files. “We are still members.”Įvernote joined the coalition in October 2014, a year and a half after PRISM first came to public light, even though the company was never named in the leaked Snowden documents. ![]() “We hadn’t realized our logo had been removed from the Reform Government Surveillance website,” said an Evernote spokesperson, when reached for comment by TechCrunch. What’s even more strange is that nobody noticed for two years, not even Evernote. If your wireless router has been installed on the floor or behind a TV ( which is common in Europe), the first thing to do is to get the wireless router up off the ground and away from the big metal TV which is blocking some of the signal to and from the router. Here are a few steps we can take to improve your signal: There are ways to rectify these issues in a simple and straightforward way, without any technical knowledge required. If your wifi router is an older model with outdated firmware, this may affect your signal strength.Router, or interference from neighbouring networks called ‘channel interference’.These can be things such as obstacles in the way of the signal (big metal objects, big thick walls, double glazing, fridges, microwaves and other devices), the position of your wireless router. ![]() There are a number of factors that can cause your signal to be low. Keep in mind that signal strength is only a broad frame of reference: If the app tells you your signal is 'poor' or 'very poor', but your device's Live View is working as it should, and your Ring notifications are appearing in time, then you can carry on using your Ring device normally without worrying about the alert. Routers that are in a cupboard or behind a sofa will have diminished signal strength. If your signal is poor or very poor, this can be caused by the distance between the router and your Ring device, the layout of your home, or interference caused by other devices (TVs, game systems, etc.) or materials in your home such as stucco, brick, metal, large mirrors or glass doors.

How do I know if a copay card is available for my medication? Patients sometimes resort to calling manufacturers and asking for direct reimbursement. Some refuse to count them toward deductibles or out-of-pocket maximums in an effort to shift the costs back onto patients.Ĭopay cards don’t always provide enough help, either. Pharmacy benefit managers and insurers have started to combat the use of copay cards. And, they point out, that manufacturers add costs to the healthcare system by shielding patients from expenses and raising prices for insurers. They say the cards encourage people to stick to costly brand-name medications instead of taking cheaper generic versions. Are there concerns about copay cards?ĭespite the savings, critics argue that copay cards actually increase costs in the long run. You can always call the program if you have specific questions. There are also sometimes restrictions on the maximum number of times you can use the card.ĭepending on where you live, there may also be laws that restrict the use of certain copay cards. How do I get a copay card?Ĭopay cards are usually accessed through the medication or manufacturer websites. ![]() If your insurer doesn’t cover the medication you’re taking, the manufacturer will simply cover all or some of your costs. When you use one, your health insurance pays some of the cost and then the manufacturer pays part or all of the cost that you’re responsible for through your copay or coinsurance. The idea behind copay cards is to reduce the total out-of-pocket expense for the patient. And you can get Humalog, a popular insulin brand-name medication, for as little as $35 per prescription through the Lilly Diabetes Solution Center. For example, you can get the brand-name arthritis medication Humira for as little as $5 per month through the manufacturer AbbVie’s savings card. Here’s everything you need to know about manufacturer copay cards. But they have also been met with criticism, as some say that they end up increasing total costs. These savings programs, which come directly from medication manufacturers, can help patients who are struggling to afford expensive brand-name medications. When insurance isn’t enough, many people turn to manufacturer copay cards to help offset some of the costs. The G strings and the E strings will typically be closest to the body of the mandolin. Typically, you’ll find the tuners for the G and D strings on the upper side of the head (closest to you) and the tuners for the A and E strings on the lower side of the head. ![]() How Do You Tune a Mandolin?įind the tuners that correspond to each string. You’ll also find that it’s possible to maintain the relationship between the strings but to tune them all lower by an equal amount, such as E-E-B-B-F#-F#-C#-C#, to make it easier to play in certain keys. Some of the more common alternate tunings are G-D-A-D, A-D-A-E, G-D-G-D, and G-D-G-B, so give those a try if you can’t tell what a mandolin is tuned to in a particular song. Like most instruments, mandolins can be tuned in a variety of ways. This also means that many mandolin chords are the same as guitar chords, only in reverse. The second lowest strings on a mandolin then correspond to the second highest on a guitar, and so on. Tuning a mandolin can be confusing for guitar players at first, but you can think of the mandolin as the opposite of a guitar – the lowest strings on a mandolin have the same pitch as the highest strings on a guitar. On a mandolin, you tune each “course,” or pair, of strings to the same pitch, so the mandolin’s tuning is really G-G-D-D-A-A-E-E. The only difference is that the mandolin has eight strings, but the violin has only four. The standard mandolin tuning is the same as violin tuning: G-D-A-E, from low to high.
